It's no secret that we kind of like decorative throw pillows. We think throw pillows are the easiest way to bring style, color and comfort into any space.
We also are huge believers that home decor should be meaningful. One way to add some meaning and story to your home space is by adding handmade decor pieces.
All of our textile pieces at THE GLOBAL STITCH are handmade by artisans living in culture-rich countries. The artisan skills are often passed down from generation to generation.

FAQ
1. How many pillows should I use on a twin size bed?
The twin is the smallest size bed so it doesn't give you a lot of room to play with. What's the goal? Balance. Pillows are often the perfect way to balance out what you have going on in your space.
However, it can be tricky to find that place especially in these smaller spaces. Too many pillows can have your look feeling forced and awkward. But on the flip side not enough can leave the bed feeling bare and drab.
We like to see 1 to 4 throw pillows total on a twin sized bed with one being on the minimalist end and 4 max.
2. What size pillows should I use on my twin bed?
We play around with decorative throw pillows for a living and have tried many pillow arrangements using different sizes. As displayed in our preferred 5 styles above we don't like to go larger than 20 x 20 inch for our base pillows.
Going with too large of pillows can make the bed appear small. We have found that one or two 18 or 20 inch pillows with a possible lumbar is usually about right.
3. Where do I put my throw pillows when it's time for bed?
This is a good question, especially in the smaller rooms where there isn't much space available. Throw pillows are just too gorgeous to just lay on the ground. Create a second home for them. Pillow baskets, storage benches, shelves, stacked on a chair or even neatly stored in a clean space under the bed are good options.
4. What size pillow insert should I use for my throw pillow covers?
We love this question. We always recommend an insert that is 2 inches larger than the pillow cover. For example a 20 x 20 inch cover should be paired with a 22 x 22 inch insert.
5. What is better down pillow inserts or faux down?
This is personal preference. We used to say go with at least a 10% down fill cover all the way. We love a good dense pillow that can really keep its shape. However, down inserts do have their disadvantages. Allergens, feather quills poking and escaping can be annoying. Some faux pillow options available like our Premium Pillow Inserts are often difficult to tell the difference.
